Hoota cave

Mosque renovation

In the old village of Tanuf, the Mosque was being renovated in the "old style"

There was a ladder in the corner to allow access to the roof for the Call To Prayer

The internal architecture was "old style" too.

Local restaurant

The restaurant had no tables or cutlery. The food was Yemeni.

Filaj

Long concrete channels (filaj) bring Artesian water to the plants.

Mud village

We rediscovered an old derelict mud village. Zahran's grandfather had the first house that used cement.
Anna & I were in this village during our first venture out of Muscat last July.

Fred was there too!

Dates

These are dates growing on one of Zahran's trees.

The return to Wahiba Sands

The tents at 1000 Nights Camp are magnificent

there's plenty of room inside too.

There's a lot of sand there.

Someone in the desert had some English beer!
